سبز مدھم روشنی میں سرخ آنچل کی دھنک
سرد کمرے میں مچلتی گرم سانسوں کی مہک
Sabz madham roshni mein surkh aanchal ki dhank, sard kamrey mein machalti garam saanson ki mehak.
کوئی رات میرے آشنا مجهے یوں بهی تو نصیب ہو
نہ خیال ہو لباس کا, وہ اتنا میرے قریب ہو
Koi raat mere ashna mujhe yun bhi to nasib ho, na khayal ho libas ka, woh itna mere qareeb ho.
ہم تو کچھ دیر ہنس بھی لیتے ہیں
دل ہمیشہ اداس رہتا ہے
Hum to kuch der hans bhi lete hain, dil hamesha udas rehta hai.
کر رہا تھا غم جہاں کا حساب
آج تم یاد بے حساب آئے
Kar raha tha gham jahan ka hisaab, aaj tum yaad be-hisaab aaye.
ہم تو جی بھی نہیں سکے اک ساتھ
ہم کو تو ایک ساتھ مرنا تھا
Hum to ji bhi nahi sake ek saath, hum ko to ek saath marna tha.
دیکھ لو میں کیا کمال کر گیا
زندہ بھی ہو اور انتقال کر گیا
Dekh lo main kya kamaal kar gaya, zinda bhi ho aur inteqaal kar gaya.
بے وفاہی کی سب کتابوں میں
تیرے جیسی کوئی مثال نہیں
Bewafai ki sab kitaabon mein, tere jaisi koi misaal nahi.

جو باتیں پی گیا تھا میں
وہ باتیں کھا گئ مجھ کو
Jo baatein pi gaya tha main, woh baatein kha gayi mujh ko.
میرے ہوتے ہوئے گر تجھ کو نہیں فکر مری
میرے نا ہونے سے کیا فرق پڑے گا تجھ کو
Mere hote hue agar tujh ko nahi fikr meri, mere na hone se kya farq padega tujh ko.
